AS IT ALL TO OFTEN IS FOR THE OLD, WE HEAR JEFF BEFORE WE SEE HIM. THE REPETITIVE, "CLICK," OF THE WALKING STICK, FOLLOWED BY THE LABORED SHUFFLING OF SLIPPER CLAD FEET. THE 90-YEAR OLD ALLOWS HIMSELF TO BE LED THROUGH THE BRIGHTLY-LIT LOBBY OF, "UTOPIA FALLS" RETIREMENT HOME FOR GENERATION X, BY A YOUNG NURSE, WHO LEADS HIM TO A SORT OF, NONTHREATENING DENTIST'S CHAIR.
HE CREAKS AS SHE LOWERS HIM INTO THE CHAIR AND RESTS HIS HEAD BACK. SMILING THROUGHOUT, SHE RUNS A FINGER DOWN THROUGH HIS HAIR AS, WITH HER OTHER HAND, SHE PRODUCES A FIBER-OPTIC CABLE THAT ENDS IN SORT OF CROSS BETWEEN A CAR-KEY AND A HYPER-DERMIC NEEDLE! WITH HER FINGER SHE LOCATES THE ENTRY PORT ON THE TOP OF JEFF'S SILVER-FLOCKED SKULL. SHE PLUNGES THE FIBER-DERMIC CABLE INTO THE PORT LIKE FILLING HER CAR AT THE GAS STATION. JEFF'S WRINKLE-EDGED EYES DILATE. FROM HIS P.O.V. WE SEE THE SMILING NURSE GO ALL FUZZY BEFORE WE SLIP INTO BLACK.
A ROBOTIC ASSISTANT'S VOICE REACHES FROM THE DEPTHS.
VOICE: RESUMING PLAYLIST. GEN X'IT.
SONG STARTS
WHEN JEFF'S EYES REOPEN HE IS IN A 12-YEAR OLD BOYS BEDROOM STRAIGHT OUT OF SPIELBERG'S IMAGINATION. HE HOLDS HIS YOUNG, CREAK-FREE ARMS OUT IN FRONT OF HIM, FLEXING HIS FINGERS AS IF STRETCHING FROM A DEEP SLEEP. HE'S NOT FAZED BY THE SUDDEN TRANSFORMATION INTO AN ADOLESCENT BOY; INSTEAD JEFF...
A dark, twilight lit kitchen. The silhouette of a woman comes into the kitchen and heads for the fridge. She opens the fridge, bathing her in light.
Song starts
Inside the fridge is Jeff's singing head, "chilling" there on the shelf, next to last night's Chinese leftovers.
She takes him out of the fridge and places him on the counter as she goes back to the freezer to retrieve a carton of ice-cream.
Jeff shakes off the chill and notices a big kitchen knife left on the counter. He looks at her and then back to the knife. He lunges forward, mouth agape to catch the handle between his teeth and...
... she swoops him up in her arm to cradle next to the Ben & Jerry's.
Second Verse we start afresh, like a road runner cartoon as Jeff continues to try and escape from his Black window, mistress, but there's only so many things a severed head can do.
The woman carries him up the stairs, Jeff looks to trip her up and send her careening down the flight of steps like something out of a Hitchcock movie, but again, he's thwarted.
Next the Bathroom and again Jeff's helpless head looks for anything he can work with; electrocution through plugged in razor; going all swashbuckling Errol Flynn with a nail file between his teeth?! But, nothing works as she stuffs a tootbrush in his mouth and brushes him like a baby.
Finally she brings him into the bedroom where his headless body waits in the bed, watching late night. She places Jeff on the dresser to watch as she uses his headless torso like a blow-up doll.
As we reach the Bridge, Jeff has seen enough. He rolls off the dresser and catches the pull-string from the blinds, between his teeth. He makes his way to the top and stares down at the bed below. As the Bridge comes to the held note at the end of the instrumental Jeff plunges off the blind like a wrestler!
... Onto the bed. He makes his way to his body, getting squished between indiscriminate bits of body, all the while singing along.
Finally he gets his head back on and he quickly jumps up, checking to make sure his head is securely on, and runs out the bedroom door!
The last Chorus, Jeff's reconnected body runs away in a naked flee. He is free! But, as he looks behind him one last time he sees her standing there angelically lit, sobbing.
"But she knows I'll fall back down."
His gaze stays on her a moment to long as he doesn't see the wall he runs straight into! He falls down and...
... his head rolls onto the floor right up to he feet. He looks up at her as she picks him up.

We play out a series of funny vignettes with Jeff the head and the mistress.
